Today, following the release of the Alloc8 untethered bootROM exploit for the newer model of the iPhone 3GS, I decided to do a full in-depth guide on how to use the exploit to restore untethered to a custom IPSW.

You can use this method to downgrade your iPhone 3GS to ANY iOS version untethered.

As I demonstrate in this video, you can also restore to custom made firmwares or prototype SwitchBoard firmwares used by Apple engineers during the production of iPhones.
